Top 5 Healthy Homemade Salad Dressings

A delicious variety to drizzle over your favorite salads or dip veggies.

The kids might even like to dip their chicken nuggets in this ranch dressing too!


I've been inspired to create more healthy, homemade meals since starting my work in Functional Medicine Health Coaching. However, I don't like to spend too much time in the kitchen preparing, cleaning, etc. And, I want to be able to inspire others that eating healthy doesn't need to take a ton of time and doesn't need to be complicated. Here are my 5 favorite dressings that taste great on a variety of salads or even great for dipping veggies and the kids chicken nuggets!


Honey Mustard Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup dijon mustard

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions: Place all ingredients in 16 oz jar and shake. Serves 16.


Avocado Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 1/2 minced garlic clove

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend for 1 min on high. Serves 12.


Asian Ginger Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp ginger paste

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp honey

Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend for 1 min on high. Serves 10.


Ranch Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup plain yogurt

  • 1/4 cup avocado mayo

  • 1 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 1/4 tsp dried dill

  • 1 tsp parsley

  • 1 tsp dried chives

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high for 1 min. Serves 4.


Balsamic Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup aged balsamic vinegar

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 2-3 Tbsp honey

  • 2 tsps dijon mustard

  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Directions: Placed in a 16 oz. jar and shake. Serves 12.
